NJFCU Sweepstakes Terms and Conditions
This Sweepstakes is being administered and operated by North Jersey Federal Credit Union (NJFCU). The address of the credit union is 711 Union Boulevard, Totowa, New Jersey, 07512.
How to enter
No purchase is necessary to enter nor will a purchase or deposit increase your chances of winning. You do not need to have a North Jersey FCU account or maintain active services in your account to qualify to enter.
All new share savings accounts opened between 9/1/2009 and 10/30/2009 will be automatically entered to win $1,000. To open an NJFCU account or apply for credit union membership, you may visit any one of our branches. If you do not wish to receive an automatic Sweepstakes entry for becoming a member, you must e-mail marketing@njfcu.org, or mail us at North Jersey Federal/Do Not Enter, 711 Union Boulevard, Totowa, NJ 07512, and instruct us not to enter you.
- If you desire to enter the Sweepstakes other than through opening an account, or as a NJFCU member you desire additional entries, print your name, address, age, telephone number, email address (if available) and the name “NJFCU Sweepstakes” on a 3”x5” index card. Send the card to our Totowa office referred to above. NJFCU reserves the right to limit the number of entries you can send to five (5) per household address. Each entry must be mailed separately and cannot be mechanically reproduced. Entry must be postmarked seven days prior to drawing. Entries will not be acknowledged or returned. Neither NJFCU nor its employees, officers, volunteers or directors shall be responsible for lost, misdirected, incomplete, or illegible entries. All personal information collected will be treated in a manner consistent with NJFCU’s Privacy Policy, which is available at http://www.njfcu.org/privacy_notice.htm.
Sweepstakes Period
The Sweepstakes period will begin 9/1/2009 and end at 11:59 pm, 12/31/2009. Sweepstakes drawing date will be 01/15/2010 and will be posted in our lobbies and on our website, www.njfcu.org.
Eligibility
The Sweepstakes is open to a) existing NJFCU members, or b) natural born U.S. citizens or permanent and lawful residents who meet our eligibility requirements. You are eligible for membership if you live, work, worship, attend school or regularly conduct business in Passaic or Bergen, NJ Counties or the underserved areas of Essex or Union, NJ Counties or the City of Newark, NJ. Entrants must be eighteen years of age or older and must not be considered a minor at the time of entry.
The following persons are not eligible to enter the contest: NJFCU employees, officers, board members and volunteers. If an employee, officer, board member or volunteer is joint on a family member or any other member’s account, the primary member is still eligible for the monthly drawings. The employee, officer, board member or volunteer who is joint does not disqualify them.
Consumer Disclosure
One randomly selected winner will be awarded a $1,000 cash prize as announced on our website and in our lobbies. The winner will be awarded and notified by NJFCU. The winner need not be present to win and will be notified by phone and/or mail. If a winner cannot be contacted within five (5) business days, then such person will be disqualified and an alternate winner will be chosen.
The odds of being the prize winner depends on the total number of eligible entries received. The credit union does not have an estimate of the number of entries it will receive. If the total number of eligible entries as of the close of the drawing is less than 150, NJFCU may elect to cancel the drawing without notice to the entrants. The winner of the prize will be selected randomly from among all eligible entries that are received in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. All decisions are final and binding. Neither NJFCU nor its employees, officers, volunteers or directors shall be responsible for late, lost, misdirected, or unsuccessful efforts to notify winner. The total prize is valued at $1,000.00. The exact form of prize (cash, check or similar monetary instrument) is subject to change without notice.
General Conditions
NJFCU will report prize winnings to the appropriate state and federal agencies as required by law. Federal, state and local tax liability and any other expenses are the sole responsibility of the prize winner. The Sweepstakes is void where restricted and/or prohibited. The Sweepstakes prize is non-transferable, non-assignable and non-exchangeable.
Consent to Publicity and Release
By accepting a prize, the winner consents to the use of his or her name and likeness for publicity purposes without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. All entrants agree to release and hold harmless NJFCU, its employees, members, officers, volunteers and directors from any and all claims of any kind arising directly or indirectly from the Sweepstakes, from any Sweepstakes prize, or from any publicity regarding the Sweepstakes.
Miscellaneous
By entering the Sweepstakes, you agree to comply with all of the terms and conditions mentioned herein. Noncompliance with any entry procedure will result in disqualification. NJFCU is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by tampering, hacking or misuse of equipment or programming associated with the Sweepstakes. NJFCU is not responsible for any loss which may occur in connection with the Sweepstakes. Entrants agree to hold the credit union harmless from any liability arising from participation in the Sweepstakes or the acceptance, receipt, possession or misuse of the prize. If the Sweepstakes is terminated prior to the sweepstakes period, notice will be posted in NJFCU lobbies and at the NJFCU website or by other media used to promote the Sweepstakes.
